Forgings
Forging is a manufacturing process involving the shaping of metal using localized compressive forces. The blows are delivered with a hammer, die or press. Forging is often classified according to the temperature at which it is performed: cold forging, warm forging, or hot forging. Forged parts are widely used in mechanisms and machines wherever a component requires high strength.
Open Die Forging
Ideal for processing large pieces of metal, open die presses do not constrain the metal billet during the forging process and utilize flat dies free of precut profiles and designs. Metal blocks weighing up to 50,000 tons can be open-die forged by New Densen to create large metal components with optimal structural integrity. While welding and joining techniques are useful in creating large components, they cannot match the strength or durability of a forged part. Open-die forgings are limited only by the size of the starting stock.
