The role of shaft coupling

Publish Time: 2021-05-26     Origin: Site

Shaft couplings are mechanical parts that are mainly used to connect two rotating shafts in mechanical transmission to achieve the transmission of torque or rotation angle; they can also be used for equipment protection of safety devices.

In addition, if an abnormality occurs during operation and the transmission torque is too large, the coupling will be damaged first to avoid damage to the motor or other transmission parts.

In high-speed and heavy-duty power transmission, some couplings also have the functions of cushioning, damping and improving the dynamic performance of the shaft system. The coupling consists of two halves, which are respectively connected with the driving shaft and the driven shaft. Most of the general power machines are connected to the working machine by means of couplings, which are the most commonly used coupling parts for mechanical product shafting transmission.
