High Strength And Toughness Eccentric Sleeve Castings - 30 Years of Sand Casting Technology Solutions From Densen Group

Today we would like to introduce our eccentric sleeve castings.


1. material selection and performance requirements
High strength and high toughness: use materials such as ZG270-500 and ZG35CrMo to withstand impact loads and crossover stress; alloy compositions such as Cr and Mo are properly adjusted to prevent brittleness and lack of hardness.
Risk of casting defects: Thick-walled sections are prone to shrinkage porosity, so countermeasures must be taken in the design of the hot-press and cold-iron arrangement.


2. difficulty in structural design
Uneven wall thickness: Eccentric structure causes variation in cooling rate, leading to strain and cracking; use fillets with R5mm or more to reduce stress concentration.
Dimensional accuracy: Concentricity of inner and outer diameters and accuracy of keyway position are required, and design must take casting shrinkage into consideration.
3. casting process issues
Hot-metal flow design: Bottom pouring and stairway gating are employed to prevent dripping and slag entrapment.
Core strength: To accommodate complex lumen shapes, resin sand and core bones are used to prevent deformation.
Solidification control: Sequential solidification is promoted, and shrinkage nests are controlled by cold iron and pushing hot water.

Overflow Design: In order to prevent overflow and mill residues, we use bottom pouring and Step feed.
Core strength: Use resin sand and core bone to prevent deformation, and thus to accommodate complex lumen shapes.
Coagulation control:Prompt coagulation by using cold steel to reduce the volume of soup.
